Community Code of Conduct

Welcome to the Caregiver Nation Network’s Advocate Hub! A collaborative community for the 10 state partners to share information, communicate, and find resources dedicated to supporting America’s 53 million family caregivers through advocacy, education, and resource sharing.

To ensure a positive and constructive environment for all members, please adhere to the following guidelines:

Respectful Engagement

  1. Treat all members with respect, courtesy, and kindness. Harassment, insults, or demeaning language towards others will not be tolerated.
  2. Respect diverse perspectives and experiences. Caregiving situations can vary greatly, and we aim to create an inclusive space for all.
  3. Engage in constructive discussions. Disagreements are natural, but they should be expressed in a civil and productive manner.

Content Relevance

  1. Share content that is relevant to caregiving, caregiver support, and related policy issues. Off-topic or unrelated posts may be removed.
  2. Provide accurate and truthful information. Avoid spreading misinformation or unverified claims.
  3. Respect intellectual property rights. Do not share copyrighted material without proper attribution or permission.
  4. The National Alliance for Caregiving (NAC) serves as the moderator for this knowledge portal. All content will be reviewed by NAC moderators.

Privacy and Safety

  1. Respect the privacy of others. Do not share personal information or details about individuals without their consent.
  2. Refrain from promoting illegal activities, hate speech, or explicit/offensive content.
  3. Report any concerning behavior, harassment, or violations of these guidelines to the community moderators.

Content Uploads

  1. To upload any documents or videos to the knowledge-sharing hub, you must first complete a submission form providing details about the material.
  2. The submission form will ask questions about the content, its relevance to caregiving, and any potential conflicts of interest.
  3. Allow up to 5 business days for uploaded content to be reviewed and approved by moderators before it appears on the hub.
  4. If your content is time-sensitive and needs urgent posting, please send it directly to Dora@CaregiverNation.org for expedited review.

Community Participation

  1. Participate actively and contribute to discussions, resource sharing, and knowledge exchange.
  2. Be mindful of self-promotion. While sharing relevant resources is encouraged, excessive self-promotion or advertising is not permitted.
  3. Follow the guidance and instructions provided by community moderators to maintain a positive and productive environment.

By joining the Caregiver Nation Network knowledge hub community, you agree to abide by this Code of Conduct. Failure to comply may result in moderation actions, including content removal or account suspension. Together, we can create a supportive and empowering space for caregivers across the nation.
